During the indoor track and field
season, Nate Arnold recorded three
top-five finishes in the pole vault.
Arnold took second at the Redhawks
Invitational, clearing 4.73m (1506.25). The junior then scored two
fifth-place finishes, with one at the
Conference USA Championships
with a height of 4.78m (15-08.25) and
the second a season-best 4.87m (1511.75) at the Gladstein Invitational.
LaMarvin Ashley set two indoor
personal bests at the Gladstein
Invitational, running 6.92 in
the 60m and taking fourth
place with a time of 22.75 in
the 200m. Ashley was also a
member of the 2011 Tigers
football team.
Kyle Bynum took gold, received AllConference USA first team honors
and set a school record of 70.27m
(230-06) in the javelin at the 2012
C-USA Outdoor Championships.
The mark qualified Bynum for
the NCAA East Preliminaries and
the United States Track and Field
Junior National Championships.
The Pearl, Miss., native took ninth
overall with a throw of 61.50m
(201-09) at the USA Junior National
Championships.
Competing in the javelin during the
outdoor season, Casey Carl notched
six top-five finishes and seven top-10
finishes. Carl took first place with a
season-best mark of 61.71m (20205) in the javelin at the Joey Haines
Invitational. The senior scored
points at the 2012 Conference USA
Outdoor Championships and took
fourth place with a throw of 58.60m
(192-03).

During the 2011 cross country
season, Austin Carter recorded his
best time of 26:36 at the Rhodes
College Invitational. Carter earned
All-Conference USA second
team honors as a member of the
distance medley relay team that
took second at the C-USA Indoor
Championships. Moving into
outdoor season, the Louisville,
Ky., native recorded two personal
bests in the 800m (1:54.02) and
1500m (4:01.04) at the C-USA
Championships.

Austin Crenshaw took AllConference USA honors in the pole
vault in both the indoor and outdoor
seasons. Crenshaw took bronze in
the pole vault at the C-USA Indoor
Championships, clearing 4.93m (1602.00). The sophomore took gold
and All-C-USA first team honors at
the C-USA Outdoor Championships
at a height of 5.23m (17-01.75).
His outdoor championship mark
qualified the Memphis, Tenn., native
for the NCAA East Preliminaries,
where he set a school outdoor record
of 5.17m (17-03.50) and finished
19th.
