We promote a proac tive approach that engages students in their development and success. The Advisement Center provides academic information and advisement for all students. A ssistance is available to aid the student in def ining academic goals, choosing an educational program, selec ting appropriate courses, learning about majors and degrees, exploring career possibilities, graduation, transferring to other colleges, and job search assistance. Advising of fers students an oppor tunit y to meet one- on- one with a concerned facult y or staf f member to make decisions about college and to receive referrals to a wide variet y of campus resources. Students are strongly encouraged to seek advisement prior to registering for each semester. To prepare for advisement, students should gather their transcripts, placement test scores and any other information that might be relevant to their educational planning. American Indian Program 480.423.6531 https://www.scottsdalecc.edu/academics/american-indian- program The American Indian Program Of f ice provides assistance to American Indian students enrolled at Scot tsdale Communit y College through three program components which include Suppor t Ser vices, Curriculum Development and Indian Communit y Outreach. Student s can obt ain special ser vices such as college counseling , academic advisement , f inancial aid advisement and general assis t ance through the Suppor t Ser vices component. The Curriculum component provides the A merican Indian Program and Ins truc tional Divisions the oppor tunit y to develop trans ferable courses in A merican Indian Studies, Tribal Development and programs responsive to tribal education needs. The A merican Indian Program O f f ice also provides academic outreach ser vices to surrounding Indian communities and coordinates ac tivities and event s for the Junior ACE program. The A merican Indian Program sponsors the Sun Ear th A lliance Indian Club and the A merican Indian Honor Societ y.
