Kentucky, home of Kentucky Downs, the
town is very proud of the fact it has some
of the cheapest gas prices in the South-
east. Other than that, well, Franklin and
the surrounding area is a case of a place
where there is no there there.
So why has everyone fallen in love with
this racetrack?
For the gambler, that's an easy question
to answer. With its huge fields, big purs-
es, high-quality racing, and industry-low
takeouts, Kentucky Downs has become a
horseplayer's paradise. The Horseplayers
Association of North America rates it as
the No. 1 track in North America.
But to only take in racing at Kentucky
Downs from a computer screen or at a
simulcasting facility would be a mistake.
