Jane and Frank Lyon had a bit of a whirlwind romance,
getting married after dating for 11 months. Frank Lyon
was a very successful businessman, running a diverse
group of companies from a Coca-Cola bottling company
to John Deere dealerships and much more. A veteran, he
was diagnosed with terminal cancer at age 45, but beat
the odds and lived another 30 years, eventually passing
away in November 2015 at age 74.
While Frank Lyon was not much of a horse lover him-
self, he did everything in his power to support his wife's
dream.
"I am so grateful and so fortunate that my husband al-
lowed me my dream," Jane Lyon said with a fond smile as
she spoke of her partner of almost 40 years. "When he
passed away, he made certain that I could continue it and
I just can't thank him enough for that because he did not
have to."
The mother of two continued, "I was always that girl
who wanted a horse and never got one. When people
asked me what I would like to do if I could do anything, I
would say, 'I'd like to raise some good horses in the Blue-
grass.' I had never been to Kentucky, but everybody who
likes horses knows about the Kentucky Bluegrass."
I am so grateful
and so fortunate that
my husband allowed
me my dream
