STOPs & STARTS USA Hockey News & UPDATES ESPN Continues To Tune Into College Tournament College hockey returns to ESPN as the ���worldwide leader in sports��� will air all 12 games of the 2013 NCAA Div. I men���s regional and semifinal rounds, along with the three Frozen Four games from Pittsburgh. Both Frozen Four semifinal games will air on ESPN2, while the title game will be on ESPN. The 24-hour-a-day sports network, which has aired tournament games since 1980, extended its contract to televise the entire men���s tournament through 2024. Beating A Familiar Path To 2014 USA Hockey Nationals Host Sites W ith its legion of diehard fans and storied football franchise, Green Bay, Wis., has long enjoyed the moniker of ���Titletown, USA.��� Coming in 2014, a new title will be bestowed on Green Bay as a repeat host city of the Toyota-USA Hockey National Championships. It will mark the fourth time that the town has hosted a National Championship tournament. Other locations that will also play host in 2014 are Hackensack and Wayne, N.J., Reston, Va., Marlborough, Mass., Amherst, N.Y., and Omaha, Neb. Other than Omaha, which will host the high school division, the other cities have previously hosted at least one National Championship event. According to Norm Spiegel, national tournament director, bringing the tournaments back to familiar settings makes putting on such a monumental event a little easier. ���Almost all of the associations we chose this time around have hosted for us before, some multiple times, Burke Bivouacs To Help Homeless Kids and have done a terrific job every time. They all have great support staffs, nice facilities, and everything that we look for in a host, they have it,��� Spiegel said. ���With that said, we���re always looking for new hosts that want to be involved in it. Burke was joined by city leaders and local celebrities who spent a chilly November night in a downtown parking lot outside the Covenant House youth shelter. Burke said unlike street kids, participants would return to their own warm beds. ���That���s not what these kids face,��� he told a Toronto newspaper. ���It���s a good dose of reality in a small amount. I���m happy to do it.��� According to organizers, more than $500,000 was raised to support the estimated 3,500 youth who turn to the shelter for help each year in Toronto.
