Q: What was your first position at Redstone?
A: I was offered a part-time teller position in March 1984. I was attending University of
Alabama in Huntsville and working full-time at a bank, so I really had to give it some
thought. Impressed with Redstone's reputation for promoting from within, I decided to
go for it!
Q: When you were a teenager, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: Well, I knew I wanted a career and not just a job. Hearing my parents' "work stories" let me
know they went out of their way to help others. I wanted a profession that enabled me to
do the same. †is career has allowed me to help members who are struggling financially,
to provide loan products and services and even to set up departments to assist the
credit-challenged.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in retirement?
A: Having more time to read, to exercise and to hit golf balls. My husband and I can be found
boating or jet skiing most weekends, so it'll be interesting to see how that expands into
weekdays. (For me, anyway – he's not retiring, yet!). I may tackle something else after a few
months of full-time leisure, even something entirely different. †e possibilities are endless!
Q: What is a secret hobby you enjoy that you can't wait to
delve into?
A: I have a very interesting idea for a book. I really think
it will sell. I guess we'll see, won't we?

Stacey Larkins Goodman retired from Redstone Federal
Credit Union in August after 34 years. For most of those
years, she helped members get credit or rebuild their credit.
She's worked as a Loan Counselor, Credit Appeals
Coordinator, Manager of Credit Analysis and Underwriting
and, lastly, as Senior Assistant Vice President of Lending
Operations. What will she do in retirement to top that?
Stacey has a few ideas.
