Both the terrace and balcony provide unparalleled views of Churchill Downs, and guests have the oppor- tunity to watch from above as horses charge down the stretch to the finish line. Technology and entertain- ment are also focal points of The Mansion, with over- sized flat screen TVs throughout and a dedicated wa- gering section. Thanks to all of its amenities, The Mansion removes the sometimes overwhelmingly frantic pace of a wide- ly attended event, while still maintaining the electric energy only live sports can provide. Perhaps the most telling aspect of all is that the space even smells luxurious, which is no easy feat con- sidering the Kentucky Derby routinely draws more than 160,000 people to Churchill Downs. The Mansion is typically only used on Kentucky Derby weekend and for private events, but it was an easy decision to make it available during the Breeders' Cup. All told, it holds 320 guests, and the 2-day package runs $4,750 per person, which is less than the cost during Derby. "It's a great opportunity to see more world-class racing at Churchill Downs," said Brown. "Obviously, it is very competitive to get Kentucky Derby tickets to a lot of the premium areas. For Breeders' Cup, some of those areas have opened up a little bit. We are ex- pecting people to be coming from all over the world for Breeders' Cup, and this gives them another oppor- tunity to access The Mansion." Beyond The Mansion, the track has renovated and added a number of luxury suites, including the Jockey Club Suites, Finish Line Suites, Winner's Circle Suites, and Starting Gate Suites.
