"One of the things we try to make different about
the Breeders' Cup is we want to set the bar high on
enhancing the experience. It works well whenever
you come back to a track and they've put this much
emphasis on improving their facility. It's amazing
what Churchill has done, and it's showing up in our
ticket sales, too."
All visitors to Churchill Downs will notice some other
significant changes, whether they are seated in The
Mansion or not. In 2014, the track debuted the world's
largest 4K ultra-high definition video board, and this
year major parking lot renovations have occurred.
Aimed at improving the arrival experience for guests,
the work included introducing a "front door" to the
facility that takes guests from the famed Barbaro statue
outside the gates to space beneath the Twin Spires.
"We are always so honored to have the Breeders' Cup
here," Brown said. "There are a lot more types of seating
areas and different levels of service for everyone now,
and basically the whole goal of that is to make it a party
for everyone.
"The Breeders' Cup is championship horse racing
at its ver y best, and we are one of the oldest, most
legendary tracks in the country, so we are just excited
to have it back here and want to make the Breeders'
Cup experience wonderful for all of our guests."
