Platen-sealing unit fea- tures servos and a PC controller for completely automated operation and high-precision tool setup. Horizontal punch system is precise and easily integrates with a continu- ous-motion cartoner. Options include a floor-level product feeding elevator, vacuum dust control, camera inspection, pinhole detection for Alu/Alu, and print registration con- trol. In-line printing options include flexographic, laser, or ink-jet printing; ink- or laser-jet coding; and barcode read- ing on lid foil. Company offers additional blister packaging machines with outputs of 150 to 600 blisters per minute. Key International, Cranbury, NJ 609 619 3685 www.keyinternational.com Blister leak detector VeriPac UBV leak detector places blister packages under a vacuum and uses volumetric imaging to detect leaks as small as 10 microns. Nondestructive test identifies a leak location in seconds. Unit requires no change parts, special tooling, parameter inputs, or sample preparations. In operation, sim- ply input the number of blister cavities, place a blister pack- age on the inspection plate, and press "Start." Detector dis- plays a pass/fail result and an image of the tested package. Unit's small footprint conserves floor space and can be installed next to a packaging line for rapid feedback. Com- pany also offers Pentapack packaging equipment for thermo- and cold-form blister packages. Unlike most blister lines that are equipped with one or two feeder types, this combination unit offers five feeder types, increasing blister line speed, accommodating many product shapes, reducing changeover time, and decreasing costs. Automated unit is the only nearly universal blister feeding alternative besides low-speed manual feeding or expensive pick-and-place robots. Elizabeth, McKeesport, PA 412 751 3000 www.eliz.com
