Kendor as a potent broodmare sire.
"And we see that Kendor blood in his
temperament," Gibson says. "It's a ver y
good temperament. But Kendor blood
is full of energy—and they are born
winners, they are killers almost, they so
want to win. You should see the foals of
Literato. Of all the stallions we breed
to, they are the ones who are first to
get up after foaling. All Literatos are
up in between 15 and 30 minutes. All of
them. And I bet it will be the same with
Wings of Eagles."
Given the family's proud expertise
with young stock, Wings of Eagles rep-
resents a cherished consummation of
the kind of gratif y-
ing cycles that pro-
duced Literato and
Prince Gibraltar. The
former was born on
the farm, and sold
through its draft as
a yearling; and the latter was consigned
from here to Arqana but failed to reach
his reser ve, raced for his breeder, and
returned to stand as a dual Group 1
"It's about that
attention to detail."
