as we watched Mother Nature put on one of
her greatest shows. At one of the most vis-
ited national parks in the country, attracting
more than six million visitors a year, we were
completely alone.
An hour later, we would be power walking
back to the car, the original stroll reduced to
a seven minute near-sprint, as the cold was
becoming brutal, the light was gone, and
