Can- didates selected are representative of the diversity of our chamber mem- bers: type of business, size of compa- ny, plus they will look for special experience and skills which bring value and balance to the board. The board of directors attend meet- ings monthly, serve on committees, help review and develop programs and services, and are expected to attend MACC events. Any member in good standing may nominate a member by submitting a written petition signed by at least 20 other members in good standing. This petition needs to be submitted by January 15, 2019. MACC Honored at Ohio Chamber 125th Celebration The Ohio Chamber of Commerce began as the Ohio State Board of Commerce back in November of 1893. This past November, the Ohio chamber celebrated its 125 th Anniversary! The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce was honored with recognition during the event as one of 15 of the founding members of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. Representing the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce at the event were MACC Board of Director Gary O'Brien, and his wife Linda, O'Brien's Safety Services, Candi Heiss, Accounting and Special Programs Manager for MACC and Carrie Ankrom, President of MACC.
