By Lucas Marquardt 76 THE LAST WORD WITH JOEL ROSARIO His 2018 was highlighted by three Breeders' Cup wins. Now he enters the new year riding the early favorites for the Derby and Oaks, and gives us The Last Word. By Dan Ross There's just something about a new year and the clean slate it offers that soothes the soul. Resolutions to make (and break); the promise of a new crop; race meets to at- tend; sales to frequent. Whether you live in Kentucky or are heading to Keeneland's January sale, lately there's always something new to discover in Lexington. It's been one of my favorite places on Earth for many years and that was even before it became such a foodie destination! Join us as we dine at Jonathan Lundy's exquisite CORTO Y LIMA, his new restaurant that's guaranteed to knock your socks off. No stranger to the Thoroughbred world with a famed pedigree himself, Lundy went a different route and Lex- ington is tastier for it. Speaking of delicious, the craft beer scene in Lexington has exploded in recent years. Not to be outdone by the immensely popular Bourbon Trail, the new BREWGRASS TRAIL is surely worth a stop. Also explore with us as we delve into THE SUMMIT AT FRITZ FARM, where dining, shopping, and socializing have been brought to a new level on a 54-acre corner of historic land. ARTHUR HANCOCK knows a thing or two about historic land and family heritage too. He sits down with our Chris McGrath to reflect, at age 75, on a life lived his own way. He may not have always been conventional, but no one can ar- gue with his success. And finally, JOEL ROSARIO, always one of the top riders around, has capped his 2018 with three Breeders' Cup wins, including the GI Classic. A stellar 2018 has the potential to turn into an even better 2019 for him with early Derby and Oaks favorites. He gives us The Last Word. – JILL WILLIAMS Associate Publisher
