International | CM 2018 37 W HEN OSCAR ZAMORA WAS NAMED LATIN AMERICA DI- RECTOR IN 2017, HE SAID IT WAS IF THE LEADERS OF NATIONS WERE READY TO RECEIVE THE WORD OF GOD AND WERE JUST WAITING FOR CAPITOL MINISTRIES® TO APPEAR AND SHOW THE WAY. He was not exaggerating. is year, Oscar's efforts to es- tablish discipleship Bible studies in Latin American nations have paid off exceedingly and abundantly well. Ministries to national political leaders have been launched in: Uruguay, Ecuador, Mexico, Honduras, and will launch April 17, 2019 in Brazil. Some of the launches have been quite elaborate and have drawn large numbers of guests. In Mexico, upward of 120 people, including more than 90 Congressmen, attended the Oct. 12 launch that was held at e Bankers Club, which has been called the most beautiful auditorium in Mexico City. In Honduras, the launch was attended by 50 Congressmen and Congresswomen, and aerward, President Juan Orlando Hernandez held a reception and meetings at the Presidential Residence for Capitol Ministries® where he spoke with Ralph Drollinger about establishing a discipleship ministry and Bible study to Members of his Presidential Cabinet. Ministry plantings are already completed and will be launched in early 2019 in Costa Rica and Panama. Oscar is also working to establish studies in Argentina and Paraguay in 2019. With an extensive history in ministry, vast connections throughout Latin America, and a long-time passion to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to national leaders, Oscar fits perfectly with the Capitol Ministries® mission. Under his leadership, nu- merous Capitol Ministries® Bible studies have been translated into Spanish and Portuguese, which is spoken in Brazil. He ar- ranged for Ralph Drollinger's book, Rebuilding America, e Biblical Blueprint, to be translated into Spanish under the new title, Reconstruyendo Una Nación (Rebuilding a Nation). e book is currently being translated into Portuguese. Dedicated and motivated, Oscar avails himself of every op- portunity to network, always with the objective of planting ministries. Aer the 7.1 earthquake hit the capital city in Feb- ruary, Oscar traveled to Mexico to meet with national leaders. "I encouraged them through those difficult times, and at the same time, challenged them to be part of Capitol Ministries® for the blessing of the whole country," he said. Oscar said that Latin American nations are ripe for discipleship Bible studies to their leaders, and CM's recent growth in that area of the world is proving him correct.
