"e leaders of every country need to know the Word of God, but because of the past Communist and atheist experi- ence under the Soviet Union, countries in eastern Europe need the Word to a greater extent," he said. "I sense that the Lord is doing something wonderful in our part of the world." Pastor Rachkovski is tasked with expanding the ministry in eastern Europe and parts of Asia. To prepare, Pastor Rachkovs- ki has arranged for numerous Capitol Ministries® Bible studies, and Ralph Drollinger's book Rebuilding A Nation: e Biblical Blueprint, to be translated into Russian. Well connected and resourceful, Pastor Rachkovski has worked tirelessly to recruit Bible teacher evangelists and to identify Christian parliamen- tarians who will sponsor discipleship ministries to national leaders inside federal capitols. So far, he has helped to birth two ministries, the first in Ukraine where he found political leaders poised and ready for a Bible study. Many of Ukraine's Christian Parliamentarians had already been meeting regularly to pray and read Scripture, and that established meeting became the Capitol Ministries® Bible study which is led by Pastor Nickolay Skopych. In early No- vember, the second ministry was birthed in Riga, Latvia where CM's Ministry Leader Elmars Plavins leads weekly Bible stud- ies to parliamentarians, many of whom are newly elected. With two decades of experience serving as the head chaplain for the Latvian military, Pastor Plavins' excellent ministry experience and personal qualifications position him to be effective in lead- ing the Ministry in this Baltic nation. Pastor Rachkovski is now working with leaders in Lithu- ania, Estonia, Finland, and Poland, and anticipates birthing ministries in these nations in the near future.
