Counter Contrast
Designer Leslie Norton was tasked with
creating a kitchen in a historical home that
would be both harmonious and dramatic
and would make the elongated space, with
its several zones (entertaining, cooking/
baking, and relaxation), feel cohesive.
While respecting the home's architectural
character, Norton incorporated con-
temporary elements in a nod to the client's
"inspiration file," creating "harmony
through contrast." A black Silestone
countertop serves as the focal point, with
close attention paid to the seaming and
flow of the surface's white veining. —K.C.
