Church Brothers Farms Makes Deal for Green Giant Brand License Church Brothers Farms has acquired a commodity vegetable business and a licensing agreement for the Green Giant brand from Growers Express. With the deal, Church Brothers can grow, harvest, and sell field-packed vegetables under the Green Giant Fresh brand. Growers Express is still retaining the value-added segment of its business, including items like Cauliflower Crumbles and Green Giant Fresh Vegetable Bowls. The deal is projected to increase Church Brothers' annual production by 15 to 20 percent. AB INBEV BUYS BEER RATING WEBSITE Beer rating website RateBeer has been bought by ZX Ventures, the incubator arm of AB InBev. This comes about 19 months after AB InBev took a minority stake in the website, which, at the time, presented questions of a conflict of interest among beer brands. In a post announcing the acquisition, RateBeer founder Joe Tucker said, "After ZX Ventures took a minority investment in RateBeer, we were able to make improvements to infrastructure, put out an in-house mobile app, and modernize key pages that as the only full-time employee with help from some amazing admins and volunteer coders, I was never able to tackle. Now, with access to greater resources, we'll be able to continue modernizing the site, and expand into new areas, like an affiliate marketplace in Australia." Cholula Brand Poised for Growth with Acquisition by Private Equity Firm L Catterton, a private equity firm, has acquired Cholula, a producer and distributor of hot sauce. The Cholula brand resonates with millennials and Hispanic consumers, which positions the brand to broaden its global distribution on shelves and in restaurants. L Catterton hopes to make Cholula a "truly standalone enterprise" with this deal.
