4 ❘ SPECIALTY FOOD MAGAZINE specialtyfood.com MEET THE CONTRIBUTOR ARIELLE FEGER A fter joining the organization in late 2018, Arielle Feger became the newest addition to the Specialty Food Association content team. She combines her passion for content creation with her lifelong love of food to bring enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to the table. Where do you live? I live in Bushwick, a neighborhood in Brook- lyn. I like it because it's not too far from Manhattan, but it's far enough that I can feel like I'm escaping the chaos of the city on the weekends. What's your fondest food memory? Making (well, mostly eating) Christmas cookies with my mom. My mom goes crazy at the holidays and makes enough cookies for an army. My fa- vorite are Russian tea cakes (also known as Mexican wedding cookies), which always taste like Christmas to me. What is one of your favorite articles that you've recently written? I really enjoyed learning and writing about the exhibi- tors at the Winter Show's Incubator Village. It's fascinating to see what new products are on the horizon and see how major incubators are fostering innovation within the specialty food industry. What are some of your non-gastronomic interests? I love reading! I'm one of those people who can spend a whole day reading if the book is good enough. I also love to travel, go to concerts, and explore the city, which always seems to have something new to do or see. Do you prefer to eat in or go out? I love going out for meals with friends and family. It's the best way to relax and enjoy the company of my favorite people, while also getting to eat some- thing delicious! However, I also love getting Chinese delivery on Friday nights when all I want to do is snuggle up and watch a movie. What is your favorite food city? Portland, Maine. I lived there for three years after college and I loved how many options there were for truly delicious food. You can find the best fresh seafood, Japanese, even barbeque; Portland has a restaurant for every kind of cuisine. And you can't beat the views.
