foam, and upholstery. "It's fun," he says. Even after 25 years in the
furniture making trade, it still feels new each time."
Apodaca looks forward to his Central Montana return, which will
mark his first time at this event. "I'm making some really cool stuff and
am really excited about it," he says.
Though the Great Western Living & Design Exhibition draws vendors
from Oregon, Washington, California, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming,
Nebraska, and Iowa, this is largely a Montana show. Comments
Fulcher, "At least half come from Montana, and that's what I like
about it."
And make no mistake, this is not your typical arts and crafts show,
but a juried exhibition that includes work of top-notch artists. All
vendors are juried based on originality of product and application.
Fulcher, himself a painter, along with three fellow GWL&DE artists, are
participating in the Russell Art Auction Friday night, a sold-out event.
"The real gunslingers of paint are there," Fulcher says.
In addition to sharing his wares at this show and participating in the
Russell Auction, Fulcher will perform Saturday at 6 p.m. at Expo Park
with his band Pollo Loco, another highlight of the event.
If you can attend just one Western Art Week event, the Great
Western Living & Design Exhibition should be on your short list.
It's free, open to the public, and held at the Montana Expo Park,
with ample, accessible parking. Can't decide which day to attend?
Fulcher says, "Every day is a good day," noting that the GWL&DE is
open through Sunday.
