Godfrey-Lee is located in Wyoming, Michigan adjacent to the Southwest side of Grand Rapids. We consist of 1.4 square miles, the smallest geographic district in the State of Michigan! Our community is very supportive of our school district, as evidenced by the overwhelming support for the countywide enhancement millage in 2016 and the 2017 Sinking Fund. We believe it is our responsibility to be great stewards of the community's investment, and serve the community with excellence. Godfrey-Lee Vision Statement: Be You; Be Connected; Be Brilliant! Be You - Godfrey-Lee believes in the individuals that make up our school community. All individuals bring unique skills and talents, that are vital to the success of our district. Be Connected - Together, we will be stronger than any of us on our own. We must work together, in collaboration, to construct learning and support each other. Learning also must extend beyond our community and into the world around us, near and far. Technology can serve as a tool for gathering information and making connections to create meaningful learning experiences. Be Brilliant - Brilliance lies within every individual and, as a school district, we need to broaden the definition of success for our students. It is also our responsibility to create opportunities for students to express learning and pursue interests in ways that are outside of the traditional school definition. Mission Statement: Godfrey-Lee Public Schools, together with students, families, and community partners, designs equitable learning experiences so that each individual grows academically, civically, emotionally, and socially to thrive in a global society. Kelloggsville, a district with 2,250 students has a strong partnership and student involvement within the Kelloggsville community. The district has a program called Family Food Network where food is grown and tended by students and staff and then donated to the food pantry. They also partake in the Community Celebration, an annual Kelloggsville event held on a Friday evening before a home foot- ball games. Area businesses, organizations and school groups set up booths and free activities are provided. 3 Godwin Heights Public Schools, a district with around 2,200 students, prides itself on its mission where "All students possess the ability to learn, to experience personal success, and to be productive citizens." Godwin Heights participates in the One Wyoming program, which is a collaboration of com- munity leaders, schools, churches and parents providing positive adult mentors to students. The district is also fortunate to have the support of the Audrey G. Walters Foundation which supports shoes and eyeglasses for children, along with Thanksgiv- ing and Christmas food baskets for Godwin families. Godfrey -Lee Core Values: • Community: Service for the common good • Human-Centered: Flexible solutions fueled by empathy • Equity: Barrier-free hearts, hands, and minds • Excellence: Continuous growth of all human potential • Relationships: Empowering human connection The area's school districts ensure students are well prepared for successful careers in the changing world marketplace.
