Polar vortexes, sub-zero temperatures?? I don't know about you but I'm ready for some warm weather and sunshine! The Park District has been working diligently for you over the last couple months in putting together an array of wonderful summer programs! We have changed the location of our April 17th Board meeting to Harrer Pool. Attendees will see fi rst-hand the current conditions of the bath house, mechanical room, and pool before we ready it for opening this summer! Additionally, there will be a presentation from the architectural fi rm we secured regarding concepts for a possible new and improved Harrer Pool project. Throughout the summer, staff and the Board will be soliciting input from the community through townhall meetings, a community survey, and/or a community task force concerning these concepts. More information will be available on our website at mortongroveparks.com at a later time. As previously mentioned, we have added some new programs and events this summer. We know from the community survey we conducted last year that the Tuesday night concert series is one of our most attended events. We hear you and have added three for the summer! The full line up and dates are in the brochure or online. This year we will be offering "Pop Up and Play" every week at a different park throughout the summer. Pop Up and Play bring games, activities, and art & crafts to a park. Need something for your children to do, bring them to the park and let's play! The staff and the Board of Park Commissioners want to hear from you. You can send us your comments or suggestions to board@mgparks.com or you can attend our meetings on the third Wednesday of each month. Best, Steve Schmidt Park Board President INFO Park Board
