Known in Thoroughbred circles as a dynamic
photography duo, Matt and Wendy Wooley work
side-by-side as husband and wife and as business
partners in EquiSport Photos, capturing some of
horseracing's biggest moments and brightest stars.
Their use of vivid colors and unique perspectives
has become their calling card, just as their cheer-
ful smiles and effervescent demeanors have made
friends out of virtually anyone they've met.
As any artist will attest, often the best way to hone
one's craft and keep the creativity fresh is to con-
stantly experiment with different mediums, equip-
ment, and techniques. For the Wooleys, their outlet
for experimentation has evolved into a full-blown
side venture called Bad Pony Creative Equine Pho-
tography, where they use dramatic studio lighting
in outdoor environments to capture iconic, emo-
tion-evoking images that showcase horses and the
people who love them.
