The Wooleys' love for Thoroughbreds extends well beyond the prestigious farms and racetracks at which they shoot. They even have several retired racehorses, along with dogs, cats, chickens, and more, on their farm in Versailles, Kentucky. Recent- ly, the pair came up with a way to not only use this unique new style of photography to showcase all Thoroughbreds can do after their racing days have come to an end, but to raise meaningful money for Thoroughbred aftercare in the process. "There's a huge range of 'next jobs' these amaz- ing athletes are capable of doing and we wanted to showcase the horses, their riders, and what they do together in this unique, dramatic way," said Wendy Wooley. "We're using the working title of 'The Sec- ond Careers Project'. Our goal is to create a beautiful coffee table book that showcases Thoroughbreds in their lives after racing that can then be used to raise awareness and money for aftercare. The TCA [Thoroughbred Charities of America] seemed like the best way for us to support a wide range of Thor- oughbred charities that are meaningful to us." The Wooleys have chosen Thoroughbred Char- ities of America to donate all proceeds from the book and are currently working to raise funding for the book's costs through sponsorships and private photo sessions.
