A trip to the Gardens is not complete if you have not also
visited the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and the newly opened
Serene Garden. The mysterious Cloud Forest is located in one
of the two greenhouse-like glass domes and has a 30-metre-tall
waterfall, one of the tallest indoor waterfalls in the world. Al-
though Singapore has an average temperature of over 30 de-
grees Celsius all year round, the air conditioning, the waterfall,
and the jets of cool vapour have kept the Cloud Forest to a tem-
perature of 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, replicating the moist and
damp conditions found on tropical mountains located 3,000 to
9,000 feet above sea level.
As for the Flower Dome, you will be in awe once you step inside.
It showcases exotic plants from five continents, ranging from
thousand-year-old olive trees to stunning changing displays of
flowers. Visit the Pollen restaurant inside the Flower Dome and
you will be impressed by its exquisite Mediterranean-inspired
modern European cuisine served in a romantic flowery setting.
Pollen was opened by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton.
Visitors are recommended to make reservations two weeks
early to avoid disappointments.
