Spacious Spa
Influenced by Scandinavian spas and natural
elements, this master bath has more going on
than may first meet the eye. Flamed black granite
floors installed in a herring-bone pattern, a
Canadian soapstone countertop and backsplash
framing the dual vanities' planks of solid
chestnut, and walls of reclaimed, painted brick
cohere to recreate the richness of nature.
Designer Janik Lemery describes it as "simplistic
in materials and generous in understated
opulence."
Tucked around the corner, for added privacy, the
shower features a suspended soapstone bench
in the chromatherapy steam room, which is clad
in honed Statuario marble. —K.C.
