"The three of us met at a workshop in Virginia City, Nevada," Geiger says. The trio decided to travel to other interesting places and 36 years later have visited several US locations and such international and pho- togenic destinations as Mexico, Burma (Geiger prefers to call the country Burma), India, Cuba and Cambodia. Recently, a visiting curator from the Fresno Art Museum noticed Geiger's work in Carmel's Gallery Sur. "The museum contacted me and requested six pieces for their per- manent collection," the photographer says. "I sent eight and they kept them all." A few months later, a museum staffer called again. "This time they offered me a one-man show," Geiger says. "On the Road Again" is a sampling of the enormous number of images Geiger has produced. "Ever y culture has its own stor y to tell," says Sarah Vargas, exhibition curator and associate curator of the Fresno Ar t Museum, "and ever y language shapes how color and composition are interpreted. The 32 photographs in this exhi- bition are par t of an ongoing narrative about the amazing world we live in and how the people and places we encounter shape our personal journey."
