Scott Fujita Brings Bright Ideas to All Saints' Day School B Y B R E T T W I L B U R O ne of the first things to be noted about Scott Fujita, the new head of All Saints' Day School (serving children in preschool-8th grade), is that the enthusiasm and energy he possesses rivals the children running through the school's Carmel Valley playground. The school's former athletic director greets children of all sizes, marvels at the possibilities of the large open spaces on campus, points out the organic garden and river access, and happily shares the recent implementation of the cross country and track and field teams. Fujita is a UC Berkeley scholar with a master's in education, a filmmaker and an NFL Super Bowl champion, and he shares how he and his wife fell in love with the All Saints' community as parents of three young children. "One of the great things about this school is you have license to talk about values and you have the education," he says. "It gives you the foundation to go off to high school…I've gotten to know a lot of the area coaches and I keep hearing that the All Saints' kids are very polite and respectful." The school honors all faiths, and Fujita says that along with academic rigor, the "values, the human piece, the emotional intelligence piece, make it a unique blend." All Saints' Day School is located at 8060 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel. For more information, call 831/624-9171 or go to asds.org.
