Learn the fundamental principles that
determine how ICT systems are designed
and installed—from cabling to project
management.
Are you considering a career as a cable installer or
information and communications technology (ICT)
designer?
Do you have employees who need to know how
ICT systems work?
Have you been in the industry for a while, but need
a refresher of the basics?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, the
recently updated BICSI ICT Fundamentals Program
is just what you need!
This five-course series covers the basic principles and
concepts of ICT design and installation. Offered online
through BICSI CONNECT, you can learn at your own
pace and at a time that's convenient for you. Courses
offered are:
Fundamentals of Structured Cabling Systems
Defines what a structured cabling system (SCS) is and
explains how its components are used to provide
predictable performance while supporting moves,
adds and changes (MACs), and future growth.
Fundamentals of Telecommunications Media
Explains how information is transmitted via three
types of telecommunications cabling (balanced
twisted-pair, coaxial and optical fiber). Covers the
primary advantages and disadvantages associated
with each type of cable.
Fundamentals of Bonding and Grounding
Addresses how proper bonding and grounding safe-
guards personnel and property from electrical currents.
Fundamentals of Network Design
Covers design considerations for traditional wired
networks, data center networks and wireless networks.
Fundamentals of Project Management
Explains how project management principles are used
to manage ICT projects from bidding to closeout.
At the end of the series, you can complete
a 100-question exam to assess your mastery of the
knowledge and skills that were taught in the series.
Students also have the option to take individual
courses without completing the entire bundle.
