From Ottawa: Take routes south to the Cornwall bridge. Take Rt. 37 east to Malone then State Rt. 30 south to State Rt. 86 at Paul Smiths, then east to Saranac Lake. (+/- 3 hours) AIR SERVICE The Adirondack Regional Airport in Lake Clear (SLK), the only commercial airport in the Adirondacks, is just a 10-minute drive from Saranac Lake. Cape Air offers daily flights from Boston's Logan International Airport. Full general aviation services for private planes are also available, and the runway can accommodate charter and general aviation aircraft up to and including Boeing 757s. Rental cars, taxis and limousines, and ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are available. Directions Whether you drive or fly, the world starts to feel a little different when you get closer to the Adirondacks. DRIVING From Montreal: Take Autoroute 15 south to the Cham- plain border crossing. Connect with I-87 south. Take Exit 38 to State Rt. 374 west to State Rt. 3 west to Saranac Lake. (2 hours) From the Metropolitan NY & NJ area: Take I-87 north through the Albany area and continue north to Exit 30. Follow US Rt. 9N to State Rt. 73 into Lake Placid and west on State Rt. 86 to Saranac Lake. (+/- 6 hours) From the Buffalo, Rochester & Syracuse areas: Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) east to I-81 in Syracuse. Follow I-81 north to Watertown, then State Rt. 3 east to Saranac Lake. (+/- 4 hours from Syracuse) BEING HERE IS GREAT. GETTING HERE IS JUST AS SPECTACULAR.
