S MT Let's walk through coverages that might be on a declaration page. Liability coverage typically has two components; bodily injury and property damage. Liability coverage is insurance that protects you and your assets in case you are involved in a collision that is your fault. Your Liability coverage limits should be set at a sufficient amount to protect your assets. Bodily injury each person limit is the most your insurance will pay any one person for a bodily injury you cause. Bodily injury each accident is the most your insurance will pay for all bodily injuries you cause. If you injured 10 people in one accident, the bodily injury each accident limit will cap the total amount that your insurance will pay out. Property Damage limit is the most your insurance will pay out for property damage you cause. If claims against you exceed these limits, you could be personally obligated to pay the difference. Medical Payments Coverage generally will pay you and your passengers crash related medical expenses regardless of who caused the crash. is coverage can be very helpful to get medical expenses paid quickly while the liability claim is being processed. Comprehensive coverage covers your vehicle for damage from other than a collision like the or hail. Collision coverage covers your vehicle damage caused in a crash regardless of fault. e amount of your deductible is negotiable and will affect the cost of the coverage. Uninsured Motorist coverage covers you and your passengers for bodily injury damages caused by a driver that does not have any insurance. Underinsured Motorist coverage covers you and your passengers for bodily injury damages caused by a driver that does not have sufficient insurance. Because of the high number of people with minimum or no insurance these options are very important to have if they fit your budget. A property damage claim can include the cost to repair or replace the vehicle, diminished value of the repaired vehicle and rental car/loss of use. Injury claims include claims against the liability coverage of the at fault driver. It oen is in your best interest to make medical payments coverage and uninsured or underinsured coverage claims with your own insurance company even when the crash was not your fault. Your health insurance is also a source of payment of medical bills. An aorney isn't always necessary to resolve an auto collision insurance claim. However, an aorney can remove you from the stress of the process so you can concentrate on recovering from your injuries. An aorney can make sure you get a full recovery for all of your losses.
