RETAILOBSERVER.COM JUNE 2019 36 burner gas cooktops combined with an induction cooktop to offer a compact solution that is still elegant and efficient. Also featured were Gaggenau's 400 series wine climate cabinet that can store up to 99 bottles and features three independently controlled climate zones, and their 400 series fully automatic espresso with new TFT screen. This year marks the first that Fisher & Paykel showcased at the Architectural Digest Design Show. The booth featured a comprehensive and versatile range of premium appliances in a variety of sizes and styles designed to fit all living spaces from a New York City apartment to a custom home. Products on display included new Classic and Professional Ranges, Built-in Ovens, Integrated Column Refrigerators and Freezers and Companion products, as well as Fisher & Paykel's revolutionary DishDrawer™ dishwasher and CoolDrawer™ multi-temperature drawer. This year marked DINING BY DESIGN's 10th year of co-location with the Architectural Digest Design Show, as well as Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS' 35th anniversary. The annual fundraising event brought together more than 30 designers, architects, manufacturers and brands tasked with building-out raw spaces into elaborate dining installations. In addition to the vignettes, DINING BY DESIGN included a silent auction, cocktail party sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, and a gala dinner on Monday night. Proceeds go toward AIDS education and will help fund treatment and care for those living with the disease. The show was also a wonderful introduction to the design trends that will shape 2019, if not the years beyond. Quite a few designers debuted celestial-themed products – from lighting fixtures designed to reflect your Zodiac sign from Richard Clarkson Studio, to mobiles composed of planetary-like discs, rings, and half-moons from Kin & Company. From Bertazzoni's ranges and Smeg's artist-enhanced appliances to Ottra's wooden rocking chair, Facture Studio's resin furniture, and Vanessa Deleon's plush, deep blue velvet-laden sofa for Elbra, there was a noticeable return to color. As the show coincides with the start of spring, outdoor offerings were plentiful with new introductions from Ernest, Kalamazoo, Caliber, and Bevolo Lighting to name a few. Organic shapes and sculptural lighting including new looks from J. Liston Design, Eidos Glass, Tracy Glover, Alex Allen Studio, Nate Cotterman, Ovuud, and Studio Enzo dominated the show floor. Lighter-hued woods, oversized art, hand-blown glass in all its forms, and Bauhaus-inspired designs rounded out the show's top trends. The Architectural Digest Design Show is produced by The Mart, a Vornado Property, and hosted by Architectural Digest. Visit ADDesignShow.com for more about the show. A RESOUNDING SUCCESS! RO
