My father worked for NASA, and when I think about this 50th Apollo Anniversary, I cannot help but remember that time. e excitement of it all. e long hours that my father and others worked – sometimes even around the clock. I remember going to a friend's house to watch the moon landing on television that Sunday night in 1969. ey had a color TV, and we didn't have one. My wife's father also worked at NASA, and he drove their entire family to Cape Canaveral to see it. She can still remember the loud boom from the blastoff! So many of the memories surrounding man's first flight to the moon include people who were, or still are, Redstone Federal Credit Union members. e Credit Union was formed on Redstone Arsenal in the early 1950s, so we've been a part of this journey from the start. Until the last few years, we had a branch in Building 4202, next door to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center's headquarters. Redstone's ties to NASA remain strong. Don Bean, a former board member, was in charge of personnel at NASA for many years. We are honored that Dawn Stanley, a current board member, is in a leadership role at NASA; Willie Love, a committee member, is retired from NASA. I have the privilege to serve on the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission (Space and Rocket Center Board) today. I do this, in part, to honor all our great heroes who work or worked at NASA, including my late father and my late father-in-law. We are proud of our roots on Redstone Arsenal. Every agency that is there today – whether it's NASA, the FBI, Army Materiel Command, the Missile Defense Agency or any of the others – wants to fulfill a mission and make America proud. e same is true for us: We remain dedicated to serving our members and our community. We are excited about returning to the moon – and beyond! p.7 | Choosing a Closing Agent p.8 | "One Giant Leap" – 50th Anniversary p.12 | Keeping Kids Safe Online p.14 | What's Your Money Personalit y?
