he community stepped back in time as 400 people, many in traditional 18th century costume, celebrated the 249th Bir thday of the
City of Monterey in the Memory Garden. A fundraiser for Monterey History & Ar t Association, La Merienda is a colorful fiesta featur-
ing a five-star barbeque buffet extravaganza, gallant dons, lovely senoritas, live music, mariachis, folklorico dancers and a silent auction.
