"We've always had two types of compe- tition," says Carmel Realty CEO Dan Lynch. "Big-box providers like Sotheby's and Coldwell Banker, and one local boutique brokerage, Alain Pinel. We always respected Alain Pinel's local expertise and commitment to commu- nity. Neither of us was looking for this to take place…but when the opportunity became available, we knew we had to identify whether it was a possibility." Carmel Realty Company also owns sister com- pany Monterey Coast Realty, and about half of the agents from Alain Pinel went to each brand. "For me and our crew, this merge is perfect," says Alain Pinel Carmel founder Judie Profeta. "Not only do I fully believe that Carmel Realty's and Monterey Coast Realty's local expertise and knowledge is critical, their standard of care and hands-on service fully match our beliefs." Lynch explains that an investment in emerg- ing real estate technologies combined with white-glove, luxury real estate services provide the best possible results for clients. "We are adding 30 people who share and will follow and accelerate our own efforts to make sure our footprint in the community expands," he says. "I can't wait to see the end results of that change."
