A s a Veteran you are invited to avail yourself of these ser vices as the f irst step in achieving your college objec tives. Veterans Ser vices provides the appropriate cer tif ication and referrals for all necessar y SCC and communit y ser vices. Veterans are provided an essential line of communication for Depar tment of Veterans Af fairs/ Veterans Administration inquiries, educational benef it information, per tinent legislative news and the necessar y advising to ensure a smooth transition to the college environment for all veterans and dependents. Volunteerism and Community Service 480.423.6545 https://www.scottsdalecc.edu/students/service-learning- leadership Volunteerism gives students valuable knowledge while providing communit y organizations with needed human resources. SCC's Ser vice-learning and Leadership Of f ice makes these experiences available for the individual, a group and the entire college. For students, volunteering is an impor tant way to distinguish themselves from other job, scholarship and universit y applicants. Many of these entities now require volunteerism in order to be eligible for consideration, and almost all see volunteerism as evidence that applicants are able to apply learning and give back to their communities. For students who want to tr y their own hands at planning and facilitating a volunteer experience, the Ser vice-learning and Leadership Of f ice works with facult y to coordinate courses with related oppor tunities embedded in them and advises a student club, Ar tie's Communit y for Ser vice (ACeS). Or, if students would like to learn more about leadership and social change in an academic set ting , the of f ice of fers a three- credit hour course, HON201 Leadership Development: Historical and Contemporar y Perspec tives. The class is scheduled for 14 weeks in both the fall and spring terms. Our staf f can help students… • Get star ted at SCC and understand the New Student Registration Steps at SCC • Set up or re-set their Student ID Number, Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID) and Pass word • Navigate through the My.maricopa.edu website • Apply for Financial Aid • Utilize online ser vices to adjust class schedule • Check and/or for ward Maricopa Email account • Review tuition summar y and payment deadlines • Apply for Payment Plan • Understand the Student Center page and To -Do lists/ Message Center • Send Transcripts …and more! The Welcome Center also of fers a computer lab for designated enrollment ac tivities, and we are here to assist new and continuing students with using the online enrollment resources to get star ted and register for classes. The Welcome Center is located in the Student Center Building (SC 118) and is open Monday through Thursday from 8:0 0 a.m. to 6:0 0 p.m.; Friday from 10:0 0 a.m. to 5:0 0 p.m. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:0 0 p.m. ( Welcome Center opens at 9:0 0 am on Thursday in May and June); closed on Friday.
