UP's primary focus is the students, both on campus and in distance education. "Our goal is to provide students with a great college experience," says former University of Providence president, Tony Aretz. "We saw a need—our students are changing—and as a result, their needs are changing. We are meeting those needs in a competitive way by enhancing student experiences." Technology is essential to the building and is based on the expectations of a new generation of students. e classrooms and the building itself include state-of-the-art teleconferencing, a fully interactive classroom, a lecture-style classroom, and faculty production rooms. In addition to supporting UP students, the building has the needs of the Great Falls community in mind. "e University Center will offer the community a premier business and conference facility," says Aretz. "We see this new space as another example of how we are partnering with the city of Great Falls." e University Center will house Argo Central (which includes admissions and a one-stop-shop for student services), administration offices, the Galerie Trinitas, and multipurpose meeting spaces for large banquets and meetings. e fully interactive classroom will hold The multipurpose conference and banquet room will accommodate 350 people seated at large round tables and 850 in rows of chairs. The new University Center is part of UP's goal to transform its campus into a nationally recognized institution for educating health professionals.
