AROUND THE WORLD 14 The Almond Board also earned notable coverage highlighting Ertz's love of almonds, including content in Forbes Online, Hollywood Life, Marie Claire Online and other top-tier outlets. ABC + Ertz = a winning partnership Naturally, the Almond Board was thrilled with the performance of Ertz and the U.S. Women's National Team, who defeated the Netherlands in the final round of the World Cup in a 3–1 victory. With all the positive press around the World Cup victory came commentary around each key player on the women's team, including Ertz. Perhaps ESPN summed up her performance most creatively, though, when senior writer Allison Glock wrote: "Like the Kool-Aid Man, Ertz has a reputation for furiously demolishing barriers with a smile. On the outside, she is all warm, sunny blond; on the inside, it's 'Game of Thrones,' mother of dragons. She has etched her place in soccer history as a rare amalgamation of physical and technical threat, the uncommon defender who dissects film and tackles audaciously, her body as ruthless as her brain." For more information on ABC's U.S. marketing efforts, as well as those across the world, attend The Almond Conference on Dec. 10–12 at Cal Expo in Sacramento. Registration is free and open to all industry members. Visit AlmondConference.com for more details. For Ertz, owning your every day means being intentional and driven. Four quick tips Ertz recommends to help you own it: Take Time to Prepare "Using your valuable downtime to prepare allows you to continue making progress toward your goals." Visualize Your Goals "I close my eyes, tune out the world and replay visions of myself achieving my goals in my head. You'd be surprised at how visions can become your reality!" Listen to Your Body "As an athlete, I'm super in tune with my body so I can be prepared to perform at my best at all times." Embrace Change "Life will always ask you to change — you just have to step up and change with it. When I had a position change in my soccer career, I looked at it as an opportunity to showcase my hard work. Whatever your change is, put a positive spin on it and look at it as an opportunity — instead of an obstacle. This will allow you to succeed."
