FEATURE Page 4 WHAT ATTENDEES AND EXHIBITORS ARE SAYING... "I was impressed with the Opening Session! The excellent panel presentation gave us detailed information about artificial intelligence using the latest technology infrastructures. It was really informative, providing insights on how today's security providers use cutting- edge technology for finding weapons and identifying known criminals." -Philip Janeway, RCDD, JDH Contracting, Indianapolis, IN "I've had an incredible learning experience! I've found new trends, seen new directions the ICT industry is taking, and learned about low-voltage applications' building automation —as well as experienced great opportunities for networking." -Jeff Larvick, RCDD, 3i People, Norfolk, VA "The audience is perfect for us! Nearly all attendees on BICSI's exhibit floor are users, buyers or specifiers for our types of tools. We bring a very technical staff that allows us to have deep and informative discussions with users and prospects." -Mark Mullins, Fluke Networks, Everett, WA "BICSI is an important show for Ideal Networks, allowing us to speak with cabling installers, systems integrators and technicians. It's a great place to meet existing customers and showcase our new products." -Tim Widdershoven, Ideal Networks, Stokerchurch, UK In addition to the Opening Keynote, attendees took in more than 35 packed technical sessions, each one offering expert insight into a specialized area. Concurrent and General Session pre- sentations covered a range of topics, including audiovisual, data centers, ICT professional development, intelligent buildings/smart cities/Internet of Things, new and emerging technologies, opti- cal fiber and passive optical networks, power over Ethernet, and wireless and distributed antenna systems. BICSI Cares, the charitable arm of BICSI that supports children's charities, donated to Jeremy's Thoughtful Thermal Founda- tion, whose goal is to make a child smile while getting treatments for childhood diseases by giving them a thermal lunch box stuffed with snacks and goodies. BICSI Cares collected donations from attendees throughout the conference, and 100 percent of the funds were given to the charity. As the conference neared the end, the Closing Keynote address was delivered by Phill Nosworthy, founder of Switch L+D. In his keynote address, Phill shared tech- niques technical leaders can use to unlock dormant potential in themselves and others while creating impactful expe- riences to transform team performance and achieve outstanding results. Phill works with Fortune 500 companies and is known for taking already high performing teams to exceptional levels of growth, performance and fulfillment. Attendees and exhibitors traveled from near and far, representing countries from all over the world. These included Austra- lia, Brazil, Denmark, Egypt, Guam, Malay- sia, the Netherlands and Switzerland, just to name a few. This global representation illustrates the wide-reaching expanse of ICT and its relevance worldwide. Next year's 2020 BICSI Fall Confer- ence & Exhibi- tion will return to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on 27 September to 1 October. Put it on your cal- endar now and we'll be sure to send details as it gets closer. (continued from page 3) Closing Keynote Speaker, Phill Nosworthy
