Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors ® Time to Renovate Just recently, my husband and I were enjoying an evening at home. Sitting in our living room, I looked around and said, "honey, it is time to renovate." That did not make my husband jump for joy! Renovating can sound daunting but, according to the 2019 Remodeling Impact Report by the National Association of REALTORS homeowners report after completing a remodeling project, 74% of owners have a greater desire to be in their home, 65% say they experience increased enjoyment, and 77% feel a major sense of accomplishment, according to the survey. Additionally, 58% report a feeling of happiness when they see their completed projects, while 38% say they have a feeling of satisfaction. Renovating also add value to your home. The report says the top projects for resale include a new roof, hardwood floor refinishing, and new hardwood floor installation. And of course, a new kitchen will add value and bring enjoyment to your home. As we move into the last few months of the year, buyers will find fewer homes, but less competition for these homes.
