"I never really look at the depth chart," Smith himself said when asked his reaction to the absent

TACKLE RASHAWN SLATER, one of Smith's body guards, was asked Monday how the quarterback
has changed as he has gone through the process. "I've seen Aidan grow more and more confident
each week," he said. "He definitely has a bit of a swagger to him. So it's been fun to watch him
develop and continue to trust himself and to get a feel of how the whole offense works together."
QUICKLY NOTED: Kyric McGowan, the converted wide out who netted 146 rushing yards against
Purdue, was injured in that game and, Fitzgerald said Monday, is "out indefinitely." Injured too last
Saturday was tackle Gunnar Vogel. "He'll be out for the season," Fitzgerald said of him.
