"Absolutely!"
Why?
"I felt overlooked," says Hull, who as a senior at Maple Grove high in Minnesota rushed for 1,915
yards and 19 touchdowns. "I felt all my hard work and dedication to the game and what I was
producing on Friday nights was being overlooked maybe because of where I was from. Minnesota's
not a highly-recruited place. Just being overlooked, that's really what gave me the chip."
A MYSTERY: Another expected to get heavy play come Saturday is the redshirt freshman Drake
Anderson, whose use and production has tapered off over the last month. "Honestly, I can't tell you.
I honestly don't know," he says when asked what happened. "I've been healthy. I've been feeling
great. I can't answer that one for you."
LOOKIN' TO LET IT RIP: Just over a month ago, while discussing his performances, Anderson talked
of slipping in games, noting that "In situations where I should make a guy miss, I'm falling down."
"To me a lot of it is a young player trying to do too much," Ayeni said back then when asked to
explain that. "Once he understands what his abilities are, his skill set, he can just stick his foot in the
ground and he'll be just fine. He'll run right by the guy."
"I definitely sometimes get in my head too much, try to do too much," Anderson will say this week
when read that analysis of his coach. "Sometimes I try to make a move when it's not necessary. I
need to, what's the word I can use—-"
Simplify.
"—Yes. Simplify my game. Obviously there's a time and a place for those moves. Then there's
obviously times when they're not necessary."
