SiG MT 37 SiG MT 53 Lexi underwent intrauterine Insemination (IUI) 10 times during the year that followed, but she and her husband still never received the news they were hoping for. With Kelly's help, the couple was introduced to Dr. Randle Corfman, a reproductive endocrinologist based in Maple Grove, Minnesota. "He was so compassionate," Lexi says of Dr. Corfman, who is also the founder and director of the Midwest Center for Reproductive Health. He believed he could help the young couple with their infertility struggles, so the Udelhovens hopped on a plane and made their way to Minnesota for their first round of in vitro fertilization (IVF). "We had to do that twice," Lexi said of the procedure. "ey put in two embryos both times." With the second round of IVF came the news they'd been waiting to hear for years – Lexi was finally pregnant. Kelly was with her during every step of her high-risk pregnancy, and even got to perform the first ultrasound when Lexi was six weeks along. "All of a sudden, her and her nurse just froze," Lexi says, looking back on that incredible moment. "And she's like – I think there's three of them!" ere was less than a four percent chance that one of the two embryos Dr. Corfman implanted would split into identical twins, but that's exactly what happened. "We were obviously a little shocked," Lexi laughs. "But we were just so grateful that we were pregnant, it didn't matter. We were just ecstatic!" Lexi soared through her high-risk pregnancy, and on August 27, 2018, an 18-person team at Benefis Health System delivered the Udelhovens' three sons by Cesarean section in less than three minutes. "Each boy had their own doctor, their own NICU nurse and their own respiratory therapist," Lexi explains. "You would think it would be chaotic, but it wasn't at all. Everything was so organized – they were amazing. We have had nothing but incredible care at Benefis." e couple named their long-awaited boys Traylan, Trexton, and Timmer. Timmer was named in honor of Kelly, the beloved nurse practitioner who has since become a member of the family. "It was a long process, but we're here now!" Lexi says. "Everything was worth it." e young family has spent the past year learning, growing, and loving their time together. "So many people think I'm supermom, but I think all moms are supermoms," Lexi laughs. "I like to be organized and have a plan, but at the same time, you have three kids, and they're going to make a plan for you too!" She has also used her journey to motherhood to help other women who are struggling with infertility. "Infertility is so common, but no one wants to talk about it," she Lexi says that the crew at Benefis Health System in Great Falls will forever be a part of the Udelhovens' growing family.
