Italy Is Partner Country for 2020 Fancy Food Shows Italy will be the SFA's partner country for both the 2020 Winter and Summer Fancy Food Shows. Although SFA has often had a partner country for its Summer Shows, this is the first time it is including the Winter event in a partnership. At the Winter Fancy Food Show, which takes place at San Francisco's Moscone Center from January 19 to 21, Italy will host more than 60 companies and their products at its pavilion. "The entire range of authentic Italian products will be on display: cheese, pasta, prosciutto and salumi, olive oil, preserves, condiments, desserts, mineral waters, and much more," says Maurizio Forte, trade commissioner and executive director for the USA at the Italian Trade Agency. "Being chosen 2020 country partner by the SFA is an honor: a recognition of the excellence of the products our exhibitors bring to the show and the consolidated alliance between ICE Agency, SFA, and Universal Marketing, the exclusive agent for Italy. We look forward to promoting hundreds of authentic 'Made in Italy' products to the U.S. market at the Fancy Food Shows." SFA Invites Exhibitors to Donate Food at Close of 2020 Winter Fancy Food Show The Specialty Food Association will partner with national nonprofit Food Recovery Network again to collect food donations at the 2020 Winter Fancy Food Show. Last year's donation from the Winter Show, which totaled 33,273 pounds, represented the largest one-day food recovery operation for the Food Recovery Network. "This will be our third year partnering with the Specialty Food Association to recover tens of thousands of pounds of food from the Winter Fancy Food Show," says Cassie Olovsson, manager of external partnerships at Food Recovery Network. "It's grown bigger every year, and we fully anticipate that being the case this year. Partnerships like the one we have with the Specialty Food Association matter because we are able to activate hundreds of food vendors across the country, and the world, to do the right thing with their surplus, delicious products. Our joint commitment becomes a platform to educate food businesses on how they can be part of the solution to reduce food from being wasted and make an impact in their communities across the world." SFA welcomes exhibitors to help those who are less fortunate by donating their remaining product from the show. To participate, exhibitors can fill out a form that will be dropped at their booth on the last day of the show. Food Recovery Network volunteers received instructions before the food recovery e ort began at last year's Winter Show. WINTER
