GLOBAL Page 23 BICSI CALA held the 14th annual Puerto Rico Conference & Exhibition at the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR) in San Juan, Puerto Rico on 7 Novem- ber 2019 with the support of 16 sponsoring companies. The event had an attendance of 214 professionals that included BICSI members, ICT professionals and CIAPR members—a 50 percent increase over last year's event. Many attendees arrived early, eager to begin their day. The conference officially opened at 08:30, with Global Region Director Rick Ciordia, PE, RCDD, DCDC, RTPM, CT, and Eng. Wigberto Rivera Nieves, President of CIAPR, welcoming the delegates and opening the event. The technical presentations throughout the day covered a wide variety of ICT topics, including wired and wireless AV collaboration; the future of optical fiber; network infra- structure challenges; field testing cabling in industrial environments; making the most of your intelligent PDU investment; digital building infrastructure; FTTx implementation; and planning for a fiber-deep infrastructure. Attendees were able to explore the exhib- its and learn about their offerings during breaks. All sponsors gave brief "What's New, What's It Do?" presentations on their latest innovations. A cocktail reception followed the close of the conference. The 14th BICSI Puerto Rico Conference & Exhibition was extremely successful. Both delegates and exhibitors expressed their enjoyment of the day and are looking for- ward to next year's Puerto Rico Conference & Exhibition, scheduled for 5 November 2020.
