More than 200 delegates came out for the 2019 EMEA Italy Conference & Exhibition on
30 October. This year marked a new location—the Sheraton Parco dé Medici in Rome,
Italy. The conference was anchored by an outstanding academic agenda and 13 com-
panies in the Exhibit Hall: Leviton, Fluke, Softing Italia, R&M, Rosenberger OSI, Hilti, Tecom
Viavi, Cailabs, GFO, AIKOM, FAR, SBA and Inrete.
BICSI Italy Country Chair Mario Vellano, RCDD, opened the morning's technical sessions,
which included relevant ICT topics such as wireless, optical fiber, PON LAN networks and
multimode cabling infrastructure. Two live parallel demos presented by Rosenberger OSI
and Spring were also conducted, followed by lunch and exhibits.
The afternoon session continued with four more speakers, including Gautier Humbert,
RCDD, Mainland Europe District Chair. Final topics of the day included cable flame tests,
copper cabling and the importance of firestop in critical facilities.
