JANUARY 2020 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 31 that takes place during the show a new matchmaking platform was launched, PSP CONNECT. The platform enabled registered participants to request meetings with one another through an online portal ahead of the show. The tool allowed users to create profiles, identify key contacts based on areas of interest and job type, build relationships and create business opportunities — which resulted in hundreds of pre-planned private meetings at the event. A team of matchmaking professionals supported the service, assisting with meeting arrangements and managing the new PSP CONNECT Lounge on the show floor. With a large, diverse group of attendees the networking events provided a fun way for everyone to connect and engage in a relaxed setting. PHTA hosted a WAVE Young Professional Networking Reception designed for those attendees that are up and coming in the industry. The PSP Welcome Party held at The Sugar Mill had a tremendous turnout and was kicked off by a New Orleans 2nd line band that marched attendees across the street to the event. GENESIS ® hosted their 20th Annual Family Reunion and Winemaker dinner at Arnaud's, one of NOLA's oldest family-operated restaurants. The GENESIS ® Lifestyle booth introduced new Ask the Masters panel discussion sessions in addition to their business and design classes. The panel discussions featured a group of SWD Masters that provided attendees the opportunity to pose unique and unusual questions in an open-forum setting. "GENESIS had an exceptional PSP Expo. With a record number of attendees and four of our pre-conference schools sold-out, full conference sessions, an active GENESIS Lifestyle Booth, and steady floor traffic, we could not have been more pleased with this year's show. We're excited for our 2020 events and the support and excitement for GENESIS remains strong and continues to grow," Sabeena Hickman, PHTA president and CEO said. The 2019 PSP Expo made a splash with all in attendance in New Orleans. Attendees and exhibitors alike were pleased with the event and the energy at the show.
