Size is adjustable. ONLY $ 10 00 the wing cut-out is traced on the bottom of the fuselage strip, flush with the bottom. For this, use one of the center section wing ribs. Cut this wing outline out with an X- acto knife. At the back of the rib outline, draw a 2" vertical line 5 degrees off verti- cal and slanted aft. Extend this line hori- zontally to the other end of the balsa strip. Now cut away this section aft of the 5 de- gree line. Repeat this process to create the other fuselage half. You should now have two halves re- sembling the one shown in Fig. 4. Next, add 1/32" plywood sheet doubler to each fuselage half. Simply trace out the balsa form on the plywood stock, and glue in place with 5 minute epoxy. Be sure to cre- ate a right and left side. I use ACE hardware quick-setting 2-part epoxy for everything. Then add 3/16" hardwood (spruce or basswood) stringers to the top of the fuse- lage and to the bottom of the tail pod with both parallel to each other and terminat- ing at the leading edge of the wing cut-out. Draw a vertical line at this point, perpen- dicular to the top of the fuselage; this line is for placement of the forward bulkhead. Cut out a 1.75" x 2.5" rectangle from lite- ply or basswood—this is the main (and only) bulkhead. Glue this lengthwise to one of the the vertical bulkhead lines you drew, ahead of the wing leading edge slot. Figure 8. View of the glider bottom showing the tail boom 'armor.'
