Collectors will also have an opportunity to own Assiniboine artist William Standing's 1925 oil painting, "The Last Chase." The large buffalo-hunt-themed piece hung in an Eastern Montana bar for a number of years, and is one of many of his works that will be available as part of a collection received from the Wolf Point, Montana area. Paintings by highly sought-after artist Edgar Paxon will be on hand, to include a large gouache piece depicting copper baron Marcus Daly's ranch in Hamilton. Daly commissioned the work in 1908, Nicklas says. March in Montana will also feature a first edition of the C.M. Russell book titled, "Good Medicine," which has a wonderful drawing on the inside cover by Edward Borein. Western Art Week has been a favorite of art lovers for years. Certain artists are crowd favorites, and none are more popular than Andy Thomas, Charles Fritz, and Randy Van Beek. In addition, the group is excited to have several great pieces from "Charlie's Friends," including works by Joe De Yong and Philip Goodwin. "We certainly have some high-end pieces, but we also have some great entry-level collection pieces, as well," Nicklas notes. "We have over 700 lots with varying price points, so there is always something for everybody." Charles Fritz, Harvest in the Bitterroot, 25 x 45 Oil on Canvas
