There will be eight returning artists at the 2020 Montana Watercolor Society
Art Show, as well as two new artists and one special guest invite, Kalispell
artist Carol McSweeney.
K. Jodi Gear, a retired equine veterinarian, has been creating western-
themed paintings for nearly three decades. Her stunning work captures the
raw emotion behind snapshot-like moments of everyday rural living.
Fellow painter Sallie Bowen, a veteran of the show, has likened the act of
creating art to writing an autobiography. "To participate in art is to celebrate
life," Bowen says. "Our short existence demands that we give full attention to
life and our surroundings. Being an artist is both an honor and a responsibility
to spend time wisely in producing the best work."
The scope and caliber of the talent on display at the Montana Watercolor
Society Art Show cannot be overstated, and make it a must-see event during
Western Art Week.
"We would like to state a big thank you to all Western Art Week art shows,
art lovers and purchasers, city officials, businesses and the general public for
having made our short presence with Western Art Week such a wonderful
and rewarding experience," Paulick says.
The Montana Watercolor Society Art Show kicks off on Wednesday from
5 p.m. until 10 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday.
