4 CM 2019 | From the President A t Capitol Ministries®, Mark 13:10, "e gospel must first be preached to all the nations," impels us! Jesus is stating throughout Mark 13 what the prerequi- sites are to His second coming in all His glory (cf. verse 26). It is verse 10 in particular that relates to our ministry call- ing, purpose, and passion: We can't help but think that the gospel will be preached in every capital of the world prior to Christ's return! Jesus' words are very motivational to our mis- sional thinking, purpose, and quest for fulfillment; we labor to plant sustainable, ongoing disciple-making ministries in 200 foreign federal capitals of the world—and in all 50 U.S. state capitols as well as in local city and county governments. We are driven by the pure essence of the Great Commission! Toward that end, God blessed us with an outstanding 2019! One of the more exciting advancements this year is in Local Government Ministries (LGM). Imagine with us this: ministries in city and county governments across America— the place where most state and national leaders begin their careers. It is in local government evangelism and discipleship ministries where these leaders begin to develop a Christian world view that will enable them to govern in keeping with God's precepts. is year we made great strides in developing the infrastructure for such an undertaking. Helping to pro- mote this venture will be Faithlife, the ministry organization that created and publishes Logos Bible Soware which now has 6 million users! rough our partnership, Faithlife will market LGM to local churches nationwide. I firmly believe that the greatest long-term impact Capitol Ministries® will have on America will be local government ministries and Rick Perry, the former Governor of Texas, and the recently retired U.S. Secretary of the Department of Energ y agrees; that is why he is now partnering with us to inform commu- nity political leaders about CapMin's ministries to them in local governments across America. From the President Washington, D.C. panorama featuring the Washington Monument and Thomas Jefferson Memorial with cherry blossoms in bloom "First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. is is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 1 Ti m o t h y 2 :1– 4 "It is very beneficial for lawmakers to be involved in a serious Bible study. We should look to the Bible for examples of leaders. In fact, when Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel spoke to a joint session of Congress he looked up from the speaker's rostrum and saw Moses staring down at him. Here is the face of Moses who provided the law. Capitol Ministries ® Bible study has been very helpful to me personally. I enjoy the accountability of a weekly study that keeps us in the Word, as well as the interaction and fellowship with other members which is a real encouragement."
